South Dakota Swimming Scholarships

PURPOSE

Every year South Dakota Swimming, Inc., may award up to two $500.00 scholarships to deserving high school seniors in recognition of their contribution to the sport of swimming through competition and team leadership.

ELIGIBILITY

In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be a graduating high school senior for the current year intending to continue with their formal education in the fall following graduation from high school. Preference is accorded those planning to continue swimming competitively in college.

APPLICATION

Each applicant must submit the following:

1.  a personal data form;
2.  a recommendation from his/her coach;
3.  recommendations from 2 adults not related to the swimmer;
4.  a concise typewritten essay specifying the applicant's perceptions of, and contributions to, the sport of swimming, as well as the applicant's aspirations in both swimming life in general.

DEADLINE

Applications must be postmarked no later than July 25, 2008 and must be mailed to the Scholarship Committee Chairperson:
