Assistant Swimming Coach opening (Sioux
Falls, SD Seals)
Sioux
Falls Seals Swim Team has an opening for an assistant coach
(approximately 8-12 hours/week). This position commences
immediately for the 2008 summer season and extends beyond into the
year-round short course season. Email a Letter of Interest

Watertown
Area Swim Club (WASC) is
seeking to hire a Full Time Head Coach for its age group swim team.
WASC is a well- established USA swim club, affiliated with
South Dakota Swimming Inc., and competes year-round.
WASC has about 60 age group swimmers with a goal of
growing to about 80 swimmers. Watertown is located in Northeastern
South Dakota with a population of around 25,000.
This position is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic
coach to take this team to the next level.
This position is
available in Sept 2008. Assistant coaching position is available
immediately.
Salary will be
dependent upon experience. Coach is encouraged to derive extra
income through teaching swim classes for the area schools, and
substitute teaching. Per
diem plan provided for costs associated with meets (travel, lodging,
and meals).
Responsibilities:
1. Develop practice plans and coach daily practices
2. Enter the team and swimmers into meets using Hy-Tek software and
Internet tools
3. Coach all age group level meets
4. Administrative and managerial support functions
5. Maintain current USA Swimming coach licenses
6. Supervise age group staff
7. Organize and administrate Jr Dolphin feeder program
8. Communicate and work with parents, swimmers, and the Watertown
Community Recreation Center
9. Teach all competitive swim skills
10. Public Relations with media, and schools
11. Recruit and grow membership
12. Attend board meetings and keep board informed
13. Participate in self-improvement programs
14. Keep accurate records of the club swimmers (practice attendance,
time drops, strengths, areas for improvement, etc.)
Qualifications:
1. ASCA level 2 preferred
2. Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications
3. Red Cross certified lifeguard
4. Competitive swimming and coaching experience preferred
5. Knowledge of computers and Hy-Tek management software is a plus
6. Organization skills
7. Reliable means of transportation
