Fall House of Delegates meeting
announcement
The South Dakota Swimming House of
Delegates will meet at 12:00 noon CDT, Saturday, September 18, 2010
at the
AmericInn, 1981 E King St. in Chamberlain, SD.
The HOD meeting will be preceded by a
“town hall” type meeting at 11:00 a.m. for open discussion of agenda
items and brain-storming on important issues for SD Swimming.
SWIM CLUBS: Each club is
entitled to one voting delegate. Delegates must be Non-Athlete
members of USA Swimming. Other club members are welcomed to attend.
1. Check the House of Delegates
list of SDSI Team Reps.
If you wish to designate a new voting delegate (or alternate)
complete a
Delegate Appointment Form. Please e-mail the form to the
LSC Secretary and turn in
the hard copy at the Sept. 18 meeting.
2. Membership/Registration
Coordinator, Sherry
Miller will be present to accept
USA Swimming
Registrations, renewals and fees for 2011.
ATHLETE REPRESENTATIVES:
There are 3 of you on our Board of
Directors, and 5 are At-Large Members of our House of Delegates. You
8 are 20% of our voting membership! We hope you will be present at
our September 18 meeting to speak for all SD Swimmers.
BOARD MEMBERS, CHAIRS, COORDINATORS &
COMMITTEES: Please e-mail your
reply to the
LSC Secretary
and Admin. Vice-Chair by
Wed September 8.
1.
Tell us whether or not you need to be included on the agenda.
2. Send any written report you want e-mailed with the agenda and
distributed at the meeting.
3.
Please e-mail
the text of any proposed amendment
to SDSI Bylaws or
Policies & Procedures in such form as to show the relevant
section as it will read if adopted.
AGENDA:
The agenda will be e-mailed and
posted on the website as soon as possible. It will include:
1.
Election of a General Chair (since none was elected at our Spring
2010 meeting) and Board of Review Members (per 610.2.3).
2.
Coaches will elect a Coach Rep. for the Board of Directors (since we
failed to do this at the LC Championship Meet).

VERMILLION — Fourteen-year-old Kathie Herrera cheerfully offers a
lot of lessons in overcoming adversity.
Two weeks ago, the Vermillion girl competed at the 2010 Special
Olympics USA National Games in Lincoln, Neb., qualifying in multiple
swimming events for the upcoming World Special Olympic Games in
